摘要

Neck masses are very common and usually benign. The diagnosis is not easy due to the numerous anatomical structures present in this area. The challenge is to detect malignancies. Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) can be a benefit tool in the resolution of this challenge. In this chapter, we expose the anatomical structure and the principal etiologies encountered during the history of a lateral neck mass. The treatment, more specifically the type and the timing of surgery, depend of the diagnosis. For us head and neck surgeon the FNA is one of most important diagnosis tool.
