The Schrödinger Equation

In this chapter we introduce the time-dependent Schrödinger equation, obtained in 1926 by Erwin Schrödinger from the revolutionary idea of De Broglie to associate to each particle, and in particular to the electron, a quantum wave. We also discuss the Born probabilistic interpretation of the Schrödinger wave function, which is the interpretation commonly accepted even today because it has been confirmed by several sophisticated experiments.
