摘要
The book chapter examines the current patriotic education conducted in Russia partially achieves its goals, and concludes that it has generally been evaluated positively, and is supported by society. According to the results of sociological research, the majority of Russians (92%) consider themselves to be patriots, among younger citizens aged 14–19 years, the share of patriots is more than 70%. As for parents, about 73% describe having a positive attitude toward the introduction of compulsory patriotic education in schools and more than half of the respondents believe that there is still too little attention paid to patriotism in school (FOM, Nuzhno li patrioticheskoye vospitaniye?, 2020). As a result, in accordance with social support and the present international situation, the state continues to introduce patriotic education for schoolchildren based on the memory of the Great Patriotic War and the triumphant victory in it.
