The Path Ahead

This chapter aims to pull together the threads of the arguments put forward and map several open research issues in the field of “EU Cybersecurity law” against some of the theses advanced in the book. Future paths of research include governance trends of EU law that can be observed specifically in EU cybersecurity law (such as the implementation of hybrid regulatory approaches; adoption of all-hazards approaches; use of flexible, risk-based ‘abstract’ legal standards) as well as an EU Treaties amendment with a view to acknowledging a new fundamental right to cybersecurity in EU law.
