Specifically, the literature is thoroughly reviewed to highlight the most efficacious use of these medications in the perioperativePerioperative setting. Special attention is given to common surgical concerns regarding risksRisks associated with NSAIDS, including perioperativePerioperative bleeding riskRisks, bone healing, and anastomotic leak. The literature reviewed in this chapter is current and was chosen based on availability in PubMed featuring meta-analyses, randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews published in the range of 2012–2022. This chapter explores subsets of surgical types, patient populations, and dosing routes; the implications of both NSAIDS and acetaminophenAcetaminophen are reviewed so the provider can use their discretion to guide clinical administration.
