This chapter will cover acute pain indications for cryoneurolysisCryoneurolysis for surgical (e.g. mastectomy, joint arthroplasty, thoracotomy, limb amputation) and trauma (e.g. acute burns and rib fractures) indications. Several reports have shown that cryoneurolysisCryoneurolysis can be an effective treatment option with a low riskRisks of complications when provided to the appropriate patient and nerve. As the use of ultrasound-guided percutaneous cryoneurolysisCryoneurolysis continues to expand, further research is needed to determine the optimal application of this procedure for different pain conditions, as well as to further refine the technique and improve patient outcomes.
