Conclusions and Outlook

This chapter summarizes the findings of this thesis and puts them into a broader context of related research in active matter, non-equilibrium physics and pattern formation. We discuss critical assumptions and address questions that remain open. In this context, we propose possible extensions of this work and starting points for future research.
