摘要

The Standard Model (SM) of particle physics is a renormalizable field theory that has been remarkably successful in describing the behavior of elementary particles and their interactions, down to distances of at least \(10^{-16}\) cm. Its framework has been validated by numerous experimental observations, and the consistency between the theory and experiments has indirectly confirmed the ideas of renormalization and radiative corrections, leading to predictions that have been confirmed over time, e.g., the existence of the charm and the top quarks, the Higgs boson, etc. However, despite its successes, the SM is widely acknowledged to be an Effective Field Theory (EFT), representing a low-energy limit of a more fundamental theory that operates at higher energy scales yet to be explored.
