Fostering Employee Mental Health: Role of HRM Practices in Unicorn Startups

The chapter explores the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) practices on the mental health of employees working in unicorn startups. It examines mental health as the dependent variable and HRM practices as the independent variable. The sample consisted of 230 participants from the unicorn startups based in India. The findings reveal that HRM practices have a positive influence on mental health in this context. In other words, HRM practices emerged as a significant predictor of mental health. These results contribute to a deeper understanding of the importance of mental health in the workplace. The organizations can foster higher levels of mental health among their workforce by implementing effective HRM practices. This study offers valuable insights for startups and their HR departments as it highlights the importance of a holistic approach to HRM that considers the mental health of employees as a crucial factor.
