Inka Seq’es
摘要
Seq’es were also a very important part of Inka culture. Llaqta were organized with them. Polo de Ondegardo (1965 [1571]), Zuidema (1964), and Bauer (1998) described the ones surrounding Qosqo in great detail. Some are thought to include astronomical orientation and utility and Zuidema (1977) even proposed a calendar that utilized seq’es and waqas. His hypothesis is controversial. To understand Inka astronomy and culture you must first understand seq’es and their place in Inka society. This chapter offers detailed examples with the first three seq’es of Chinchaysuyo in Qosqo. Waqas were important parts of seq’es and these relationships are discussed here well.
