摘要

Archaeoastronomy is sometimes said to be the anthropology of astronomy. Celestial orientations appear in constructions found in many societies, implying there was great ancient interest in the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars for interaction with daily life. This was more than just a means of telling time, though, as such orientations have been found with respect to many aspects of society and culture. This chapter is an overview of some astronomical concepts and understanding these scientific basics is also necessary to fully comprehend Inka astronomy and cosmovision.
