Infrared Laser Irradiation for Pre-sowing Seed Treatment: Advancing Germination and Crop Productivity

Laser irradiation of seeds in pre-sowing treatment emerges as a promising frontier in modern agriculture, resonating with the ethos of ecological farming and energy conservation. This method, characterized by its non-toxicity and efficiency, seeks to enhance seed germination rates, thereby elevating agricultural productivity. In this study, conducted experiments employed an infrared laser to irradiate seeds spanning five different crop varieties. Notably, laboratory investigations yielded affirmative results, affirming the beneficial impact of laser irradiation on both seed germination and subsequent growth, particularly observed in wheat and barley seeds. This discovery underscores the potential efficacy of laser treatment in bolstering seed viability and germination, which are pivotal determinants of crop yield. Moving forward, the research trajectory aims to unravel the intricate mechanisms underlying the effects of laser irradiation across diverse seed types. Moreover, efforts will be channeled towards translating these insights into tangible applications within real-world agricultural contexts. By optimizing production processes and enhancing crop quality, the exploration of laser irradiation in seed treatment holds promise for fostering sustainable agricultural practices and meeting the burgeoning global demand for food security.
