Assemblage? Power Dispositive? Constellation? The Coda

  • Brigitta Busch

摘要

Inspired by and in response to the contributions in this volume, I first consider the role of the researcher as inevitable part of spatial assemblages they observe and analyze. Drawing on concepts of resonance, scenic understanding and precarious (auto)ethnography, this chapter suggests to differentiate between the experiencing, remembering, narrating and narrated, analyzing and analyzed ‘I’. The second part takes a critical look at the term assemblage proposing to reflect on different dimensions of spatial arrangements: the assemblage as a situated observable ‘happening’ in which human and non-human actors interplay in a unique way; the power dispositive as a configuration of normative and institutionalized orders of discourse and practice; the constellation as a (subjective-objective) representation of what is understood as significant.
