摘要

This research examined the dependability and influence of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted tools, particularly ChatGPT, on the argumentative writing proficiency of EFL Omani learners. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, data were collected from 314 Omani English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students through a comprehensive questionnaire. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha (0.938) and item-rest correlations. The results suggest that learners perceive AI tools to have a moderate impact on their writing abilities, including task response, coherence, cohesion, lexical resources, and grammatical accuracy. Moreover, AI tools positively affected learners’ writing confidence, anxiety reduction, and revision habits. This research emphasizes the potential of AI tools in EFL education, highlighting their effectiveness in enhancing writing competencies and supporting learners’ psychological well-being. These findings can inform the integration of AI technologies into educational curricula to improve learning outcomes and align them with educational objectives.
