Capability Modeling in Enterprise Process Map for IT Industry

In IT sector, enterprise process mapping (EPM) is a crucial component of business process management (BPM). It involves creating enterprise process maps (EPM) that helps imagine an organization’s capability, including business processes’ inter-linkages and arrangements. EPM serves as a primary basis for truth and a digital repository for an organization’s capability, including individual departments within those capabilities. The purpose of this paper is to develop a standardized model of capability for IT industry and to emphasize importance of EPM. Telephone interviews with IT executives and managers from various IT companies were conducted in order to understand capability modeling of IT industry. The study offers a thorough understanding of components of capability and variables taken into account when modeling them.
