摘要

In the contemporary realm of industrial practice, mass customization stands out as an avenue for manufacturers, producing both bespoke and off-the-shelf goods, to expand their product offering. This scholarly investigation focuses on mass customization in welding and fabrication sector, shedding light on supply chain, labor force, and environmental sustainability. Our comprehensive study explores mass customization strategy in capital goods fabrication, drawing insight from welding, fabrication, and related industry. We employ a multidisciplinary approach, blending data and business analytics. A central focus is on role of skill and job parameter, which influence standard work hours (SWH) and potential for mass customization. Going beyond theory, our study provides practical insight into Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) technique, offering concrete evidence of our expertise in defining job role and skill requirement for mass customization. This scholarly endeavor contributes to industrial innovation, data-driven decision-making, and manufacturing efficiency. By examining interplay of skill parameter, job parameter, and SWH, it advances understanding of mass customization in capital goods fabrication. The findings and recommendations benefit practitioners and scholars, enriching field of mass customization.
