Greener Pastures: Motivations for Sustainable Agriculture Careers

Embarking on greener pastures in agriculture signifies a commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. This study delves into the motivations and decision pathways that drive individuals toward these greener pastures, exploring the multifaceted factors influencing career choices in sustainable agriculture. Drawing from a comprehensive literature review, our research constructs a nuanced conceptual framework that identifies key motivators, ranging from environmental consciousness and economic viability to personal values, lifestyle preferences, and regulatory influences. Employing a mixed-methods approach, a survey administered to 275 participants engaged in sustainable agriculture forms the backbone of our investigation. Factor loading analysis uncovers latent constructs within motivational drivers, while a Chi-Square test assesses the significance of associations between identified motivators and career choices. Additionally, the study explores the statistical significance of decision-making complexity in sustainable agriculture career pathways. By integrating qualitative insights with quantitative data, our research aims to provide a holistic understanding of the factors influencing sustainable agriculture career choices, offering valuable insights for stakeholders, policymakers, and educators.
