Review of the Development of Methods for Producing Dispersed Iron

This review reviews and summarizes the research on the synthesis, properties, and applications of iron-based materials. Various physical and chemical methods used to synthesize nanoiron particles with desired properties and structure are described. Many methods are discussed in detail, namely mechanical, evaporation and condensation methods, chemical vapor condensation, plasma-chemical processes for obtaining dispersed powders, hydrogen plasma reaction with metal and vapor-phase pyrolysis, electrodeposition, and various methods implemented in the liquid phase. The properties of iron particles largely depend on their synthesis procedures. This article discusses the basics, advantages, and disadvantages of each synthesis method.
