A Review of Literature on TOS Practices for Test Item Analysis: Input for Institutional Test Banking System and Educational Institution’s Examination and Student Grading System of Quezon City University

This paper was presented at the research conference at the University of Salamanca, Spain, on May 2, 2024, and participated in by different universities worldwide from Europe, the USA, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, and Southeast Asia. This study is a review of literature on TOS practices for test item analysis that will lead to institutional test banking systems and educational institutions’s examinations and student grading systems. The legal basis of this study was the faculty meeting called by the head of the NSTP department during the first quarter of FY 2022–2023, where members of the NSTP faculty and administrative personnel participated. The objectives of the NSTP faculty meeting were to create a framework mechanism for an innovation technology hub for the National Service Training program and the improvement of the Social Sciences program, and to further develop the students capabilities and faculty’s capabilities, including access to a digital learning management system to further improve the quality of the test items and the grading system, including the records of grades that can be generated by way of electronically designed records that can easily be monitored by the NSTP Head. This study methodically employed a review of related studies and literature to categorize, describe, analyze, and interpret the borrowed materials from different authors, both in the locale and international domains, respectively. The expected output of this review was to develop a relevant and effective mechanism for a digital LMS intended for a test banking system and metrics for the grading system, including records of grade, respectively. The study further employed a (CDAI) categorizing, describing, analyzing, and interpreting techniques. The outcome of the study will be part of the institutional planning and development of Quezon City University.
