Other Number Systems
摘要
In this chapter, we explore several somewhat unusual number systems. Most of these find use in hardware and are not encountered, typically, in software. Nonetheless, we will examine these number systems from a software perspective to understand how they operate and why and when they might be advantageous. Specifically, this chapter discusses the logarithmic number system, the double-base number system, the residue number system, and the redundant signed-digit number system.
