Trauma-Informed Care in the Reproductive Clinical Setting for LGBTQ+ Patients
摘要
The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) community has a long history of marginalization and trauma, particularly in regard to receiving healthcare services. Trauma-informed care (TIC) provides a framework in which medical professionals can provide safe, holistic, and sensitive care for their patients. The majority of literature on TIC in the LGBTQ+ population has revolved around mental health services, with little written about TIC in the reproductive health setting for LGBTQ+ individuals. While not an expansive list of all possible methods to provide TIC in the reproductive setting, this chapter aims to frame a model of TIC in reproductive health care for LGBTQ+ patients.
