Data Exchanges Enabling the Future of Automation: Opportunities and Challenges
摘要
Current transportation technologies produce large amounts of data that need to be managed better by the agencies that generate, ingest, or consume them. As a result, the need to find improved ways for communicating and exchanging data between public and private sector entities is increasing, creating the need for collaborative solutions that accommodate privacy, transparency, quality, and reliability, with a focus on the need for harmonized, one-stop-shop platforms that can accommodate data sharing and vetting. The ARTS23 breakout session Data Exchanges Enabling the Future of Automation: Opportunities and Challenges gathered industry professionals and stakeholders to discuss their experience and needs for data sharing, identify the need for further steps toward defined roles for Federal, state, and local agencies, explore the need for tools to check data quality, and ways to facilitate better communication between stakeholders.
