摘要

As autonomous vehicles (AVs) solutions continue to develop rapidly, urban planners, engineers and policy makers need to proactively prepare in order to maximize the benefits of the technology for the public good. These preparations can be guided by the existing framework of automation-readiness of cities that is framed with six core focal points: policy; infrastructure; traffic management; planning; capacity building; and users. This paper explores dialogues related to these focal points and enriches the framework with a multidisciplinary and international perspective on how shared and automated mobility can be aligned with climate conscious land use and sustainable urban mobility planning (SUMP) outcomes.
