Incorporating Comparative Mythology in Children’s Educational Discourse
摘要
Due to globalisation, Children have become alienated from their culture. Factors such as modernisation, migration and technological advancements cause children to be detached from their roots. Comparative Mythology is an interdisciplinary field of study which involves the examination of myths from across the world while drawing parallels and exploring the common threads and similarities. It provides profound insights into our ancestral understanding of the natural world around us and the conclusions that have been reached regarding them. The gaps in the literature study have revealed how comparative mythology can be used in education. This led to the development of an Integrated Framework for Educating Children Using Comparative Mythology (iFECM), which is used to create a smartphone application and illustrated book. The goal is to develop resources about comparative mythology, which will be integrated into the curriculum.
