Professional Skills for the Digital Transformation of Organizations: A Literature Review

The evolution of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has triggered a constant transformation in organizations, in their business models, as well as in operations. The future vision of companies will be guided in the following years by digital technologies. The transformation process is taking place gradually, and it is highly relevant to structure and plan the said transformation. A key element is being able to have the appropriate technical resources for a successful digital transformation. Not only is a technological transformation necessary, but an organizational and cultural transformation is required in the institutions. This work addresses the main challenges in organizations to achieve digital transformation. Human capital is one of the necessary pillars and requires evolving beyond interdisciplinary teams, demanding a set of standard skills between the different areas of the organization to be digitalized.
