Development of Algorithms for Calculations and Design of Electrical Distribution Feeders

The design of electrical distribution systems is an important stage when designing an industrial plant. Different electrical calculation algorithms are involved in the design of an electrical system. This chapter describes the operation of the algorithms for the electrical calculations in industrial electrical systems. In particular, our work is focused on the calculation of feeders for an electrical distribution system. Industrial electrical systems require an economical distribution system to provide efficient electrical energy at a suitable cost. In this context, the calculation and selection of the electrical conductors play an important role. The algorithms presented in this work cover short-circuit, nominal current capacity, and voltage drop methods, which are the methods used to determine suitable conductors for electrical feeders.
