When Work Whispers at Home: Spillover of Occupational Stress, Supervisor Support, and Stigma Towards Occupational Stress Among Indian Mental Health Professionals
摘要
This study explores the impact of occupational stress on the family dynamics of Mental Health Professionals (MHPs) in India. Through a quantitative correlational design, the study analyzes 260 MHP responses to understand the relationship between professional stress, family functioning, stigma towards occupational stress, and family-supportive supervisory behavior. Results indicate that higher professional stress correlates with increased stigma and poorer family functioning, but family-supportive supervisory behavior can moderate these effects. Thus, emphasizing the importance of enhancing workplace supports and reducing stigma to improve MHPs’ work-life balance, contributing to the literature on work-family spillover.
