The Impact of Energy-Saving Technological Changes on the Sustainability of Enterprises Facing Rising Energy Prices

The effectiveness of the activities of many enterprises largely depends on their sustainability given the possible increase in energy prices. In turn, this sustainability can be determined by several factors, in particular, the degree of technological development of companies. Therefore, the research aims to evaluate the impact of energy-saving technological changes (ESTC) on the sustainability of enterprises to a possible increase in energy prices. The scientific novelty of this research consists in the construction of a model for determining the level of sustainability of enterprises – consumers of energy resources to a possible rise in the prices of these resources, as well as in the devising of an estimation method for the impact of ESTC on the stated sustainability. Approbation of this method on a sample of Ukrainian enterprises showed that with an increase in the level of ESTC, the sustainability of the studied enterprises to a possible increase in natural gas prices increases significantly. Therefore, the introduction of ESTC in enterprises can contribute to a significant rise in their sustainability to the increase in natural gas prices.
