A Study on Corporate Governance in Singapore: Current Status and Future Directions

This study aims to provide recommendations for enhancing corporate governance in Singapore by examining current trends and factors shaping its corporate governance landscape. It acknowledges the influence of broader regional dynamics, as corporate governance environments in other ASEAN countries impact Singapore. To assess this, the study compares Singapore with Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam using the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. Additionally, it establishes links between company disclosure practices and various factors, including enforcement efforts, financial performance, corporate value, and ownership structure.
