A Framework Proposal for Bookstore-cum-Library Optimisation
摘要
The charm and nostalgia of wandering through the long and dusky aisles of a bookstore, searching for the next perfect literary gem is at risk of fading. In the evolving age of electronic platforms for reading, bookstores and libraries have become less frequented areas in society. Addressing the challenges of book misplacement, user experience, inventory management, and spatial organisation, this study aims to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction using a holistic framework for optimising bookstore-cum-library operations. Through RFID integration, a user-friendly smart-device application and other assistive technologies, the framework streamlines operations and improves accessibility. This study offers a comprehensive solution to modernise and improve a reader’s experience. This paper has contributed to potentially keeping physical hubs for information relevant and allows scope for expansion into other industries.
