摘要

Enzymatic biocatalysis is carried out through reactors, which provide specific reaction conditions such as agitation, temperature, pressure, oxygen, and vacuum. The reactors used can be fluidized-bed reactors, packed-bed reactors, and continuous and batch stirred tank reactors. The choice of biocatalysis operating mode should be evaluated according to the characteristics and needs of each reaction process. So, the success of enzymatic biocatalysis does not depend solely on the catalytic efficiency of lipases, it is necessary to investigate methods of bioreactor systems. This chapter describes batch and continuous system reactions, their applications, and the advantages associated with each process.
