A PK Platform Lab Test for a Brain Neurosurgery

A platform for brain neurosurgery is presented with a prototype for lab testing. The platform is designed based on a parallel kinematic mechanism with a prototype 3D printed and assembly with commercial joints. It uses three linear actuators to reach the coordinates needed for the surgeon aids, the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), and current sensors for data acquisition. The platform is tested on two cases of study, five times each Case. The test simulates a surgery operation with the performance of two linear actuators at the same time, with pitch values of 5° to -5° and roll values between –20° to –35°.
