The Laboratory Diagnosis of Renal Disease

Chronic kidney disease is a progressive condition affecting more than 10% of the general population worldwide (Kovesdy, Kidney Intern Supplem 12:7–11, 2022). While there are imaging tests and invasive procedures for evaluating renal disease, the clinical laboratory still plays a major role in the diagnosis and monitoring of this condition.
