Joyce’s Handbook of School Management and Methods of Teaching
摘要
First published in February 1863, Joyce’s Handbook of School Management and Methods of Teaching (The Handbook) had a profound influence in Irish education. For generations, it was the main reference book consulted by teachers, and up to the 1890s it played a significant role in the education system, being prescribed for those preparing for examinations while training to become monitors, teachers and inspectors. Moreover, even after the introduction of the Revised Programme for National Schools in 1900, it continued to be used as a key text in the training colleges.
