Joyce’s Work at the Central Model School

In 1860, P. W. Joyce, who was then 33 years of age, was appointed principal of the Central Model Schools in Dublin, the most prestigious institution conducted under the National Board. He now had an opportunity to put into practice over a long-term period the system of organisation he had learned under the tutelage of P. J. Keenan and had practised as an organiser of schools.
