Methodology of Strategic Analysis for the Agricultural Industry: International and Russian Experience

The authors consider foreign methods of strategic analysis and roadmapping of agro-industrial complex development, identify features of the international methods under consideration. The contribution presents the main directions of sectoral strategic analysis, substantiated in the Russian scientific sources, requirements of the Russian legislation to strategic analysis and roadmap of agro-industrial complex development. The purpose of the study is to identify features of the Russian methodology of strategic analysis of the agro-industrial complex of a region. The research object is the methodology of strategic analysis of the agro-industrial complex of the region in the context of the Russian legislation. The subject of the study involves peculiarities of the Russian methodology of strategic analysis of the agro-industrial complex of a region. The work presents the authors’ five-stage methodology of strategic analysis of the agro-industrial complex of a region, reveals the peculiarities of the Russian methods of strategic analysis of the regional agro-industrial complex. It is proved that, compared to international methods, the Russian methodology of strategic analysis of the regional agro-industrial complex has national peculiarities due to the large volume of state regulation and financing of the agro-industrial complex, which requires additional analysis of the budgetary efficiency of state support.
