An Integrated Approach to Achieving Sustainable Development in the Modern World

The contribution investigates various aspects of sustainable development in the modern world. Economic, environmental and information factors influencing the achievement of sustainable development are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to how traditional economic models can be transformed to achieve sustainability. A specific role of technology and information in promoting sustainable development is also considered. Specific examples and cases from different countries and industries are analyzed. It is concluded that an integrated approach that takes into account economic, environmental and information factors is the key to achieving sustainable development in the modern world. Data on one of the most important environmental indicators – CO2 emissions for the period 2020–2022 is presented. The indicators of the share of renewable energy sources and the volume of waste generation and recycling for the same period are analyzed. A comparative analysis of the readiness of the EU countries and Russia for the digital economy is provided as indicators of the development of the information sphere.
