Asymmetry of Intra-regional Socio-economic Development in the Stagnation Period

The contribution investigates the impact of globalization and regionalization on the national economic security. For this purpose, factors associated with the economic stagnation from 2020 to 2023 are analyzed. To measure asymmetry in the economic security, the study includes three blocks: economic, social and financial, in each of which indicators are calculated. A total of twelve indicators are used, which are also taken into account in the factor regression model, reflecting a comprehensive indicator of economic security and allowing assessing the impact of individual factors. Further correlation and regression analysis is carried out to assess the impact of each factor on the comprehensive indicator. From twelve factors, six have a fairly strong relationship with the indicator of economic security. The authors believe that the most effective measures for the regions should include focusing on industries that contribute to the main economic growth and the formation of competitive advantages of a region, especially in export industries. It is also important for regions to participate in targeted development programs, including those involving private investments, as well as to increase the industrial production index and provide engineering consulting services to industrial companies.
