摘要

The root cause of all sufferings and sorrow in the world is our inability to deal with conflicts and stress. We as human beings have to learn to deal with conflicts in life wherever or whoever we are. The eternal classic, the Bhagavad Gita written 5000 years ago, by sage Ved Vyasa, offers solutions at material, spiritual and mental levels for our problems. It is not only a historical event from the epic Mahabharata but a spiritual event that enables one to win oneself, it is each one’s story, hence the validity. Grief, despondency and a sense of futility of human life is a perpetually occurring human predicament. The purpose of this paper is to delve deeper into the dejections of Arjuna explained in the first chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, called as Arjun Visada Yoga, to be able to understand our own conflicts in a better way, paving the path to healing and wholeness. Without an awareness of the ongoing inner conflicts, a union or Yoga with the Higher Self cannot be achieved. The methodology to write this paper is based on theoretical content analysis and a thorough thematic analysis of the data to be able to identify the themes and patterns of this chapter based on the commentaries of three great spiritual luminaries. The paper includes a study Self management through Arjus Visada Yoga studying different versions of Bhagwad Gita.
