Green Ethics: The Concept of ‘New’ Religion and Sustainability

This paper aims at recognizing the validation of a set of moral rules, laws and doctrines and developing a moral language and vocabulary to feel and empathize with the environment as the need of the hour and as an integral part of learning experiences and engagements. Let our new religion be the recognition of the fact that the Earth and its creatures have an intrinsic value- a moral value simply by their existence, not because they meet some human needs. A survey was conducted amongst students at schools to gauge their awareness and inclusiveness about environmental concerns. Making responsible choices and growth of a moral vision for living in relationship to the Earth will help create human values, generate social responsibility, and make the future generation principled, caring, and open minded.
