Ensuring Sustainable Development of the Food Packaging Industry
摘要
The paper addresses the relevance of sustainable development of socio-economic systems. The main stakeholders and their roles, methods and tools to ensure meso and micro levels of sustainable development are studied. Micro-decomposition of sustainable development goals makes rational implementation of separate development projects in individual industries and enterprises. This approach not only ensures consistent project implementation, but also enables identification, analysis, assessment and mitigation of risks generated by the projects. Particular focus is placed on feasibility of the projects oriented towards one of the goals of sustainable development – sustainable consumption and production in the food packaging industry. The global food packaging market demand is showing a rapid growth trend. The sustainable consumption and production network include governments, civil society, the private sector, and academic institution and international organizations. The interaction of key stakeholders to ensure sustainable development in the eco-friendly (sustainable) food packaging industry is analyzed. Sustainable packaging involves materials with the minimum environmental impact throughout its life cycle. The production of such packaging is aimed at reducing waste, saving resources and promoting renewable materials.
