On Economic Indicators of the Global Financial Market
摘要
There is a huge variety of stock indices in the securities market, which are used both to assess the state of a particular industry and the state of the economy as a whole. Thanks to indices, it is possible to analyze the historical development of the stock market, to identify current trends, as well as to outline possible future paths of stock market development. Most economists consider stock indices to be important generalizing indicators of statistics. According to the indices it is possible to assess the state of the state economy as a whole, individual industries, make a forecast of them. Investors can use stock indices as an ideal model of diversification of their portfolio or as a tool for assessing the effectiveness of its management. The purpose of this study is to identify internal and external factors that affect the sensitivity of the index. The article provides a comparative analysis of Moscow Exchange indices, studies the historical dynamics of Russian and American indices, and identifies the factors that determine the degree of index sensitivity to certain economic changes. Of particular interest is the authors’ justification of the differences in the degree of reaction of Russian and American indices to the dynamics of the same endogenous and exogenous factors.
