Sustainable Development Goals Achievement in the Context of Regional Economic Security

The paper considers the study of the relation between the sustainable development goals proclaimed by the UN and Russian Federation development priority directions at both the national and regional levels. Paper reveals the actions to be taken in order to improve methodological approaches to measuring the degree of sustainable development goals achievement using indicators of economic security. Using the example of the Kaliningrad region, an analysis of economic security level in terms of ESG concept focus area was carried out. The main results of the region economic, social and environmental projections development analysis are presented, current trends and existing threats to economic security are identified, and ways to strengthen the level of regional economic security in terms of moving towards achieving sustainable development goals and implementing priority directions of the Russian economy are outlined. The authors proved the goals continuity in a multi-level hierarchical system, the possibility of breaking the sustainable development goals of the international community to the national and regional levels. Ways to improve the information and analytical base and tools for its formation are proposed to improve the quality of management decision-making to neutralize identified threats to regional economic security that impede the achievement of sustainable development goals. As a result of the study the projection of economic development was identified as a strong and priority projection, and the projection of the region social and environmental development as a requiring to strengthen by direct and immediate decision-making.
