Modeling of Defensive Drone Swarms with NetLogo
摘要
The paper presents an innovative approach to the protection of important infrastructure objects from UAV attacks based on the umbrella of defensive drone swarms. United swarm intelligence allows drones that act as autonomous agents of multi-agent system to independently coordinate their activities, eliminating the need for centralized control, that significantly increases the reliability of the defense system. To evaluate the efficiency of such technological solution at the design stage, a NetLogo model of the defensive drone swarm during the mission is developed. In this model, the control program is implemented in accordance with the method of describing control algorithms using control E-networks that can be embedded into control system of drone. The control program for each agent consists of three interrelated levels: reactive level that receiving signals from various sensors and creating control impacts, planning level for calculating target movement parameters and possible actions to intercept, cooperative level that provides data exchange between drones and selection of attacking drones. The model experiments are directed to evaluate the efficiency of targets detection and its destruction with simultaneous monitoring of the target’s presence in the surveillance zone. This demonstrates the potential of the proposed model to evaluate the efficiency of defense systems built on the basis of swarms of drones in rapid response to attacks, as well as its ability to adapt to dynamic changes in the environment. Simulation results allow to establish the perspective of the proposed approach to defense of objects from air attacks using drone swarms.
