This chapter evaluates the validity of social psychology, sociology and behavioural psychology theories in relation to media studies and climate change discourse; it identifies the mechanisms that can assist the media in ensuring public attention to climate change and free-riding mitigation. It provides pathways for the creation of the social proof narrative as well as proposing action points, behavioural change directions and building consistent interest to climate events and people’s role in addressing them.
