Due to poor ingredient managementIngredient management and limited variety in meals, Malaysians are dumping 4046 tonnes4046 tonnes of edible foodEditable food every year, which creates challenges for the baking industry as well as garbage collectors with extra efforts and resources. To solve this issue, a green approachGreen approach known as DeliciFind: a recipe recommendationRecipe recommendation and kitchen ingredientKitchen ingredient management system is developed. It addresses the global concern of food waste, particularly prevalent in Malaysia. This mobile application streamlines meal preparationMeal preparation and reduces food wasteFood waste by providing personalized recipe recommendations based on saved kitchen ingredients. Leveraging the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach, the application emphasizes flexibility and iterative development to accommodate evolving requirements. Implementation includes Android Studio, Firebase Authentication, a real-time databaseAndroid Studio, Firebase Authentication, a real-time database, and integration with the Spoonacular API. DeliciFind introduces novel features like kitchen ingredient inventory management and unique recipe recommendations based on saved kitchen ingredients. Its user-friendly interface promotes efficient meal planning and mindful ingredient consumption, fostering sustainability. The results encompass implementation details and development system interfaces. In conclusion, DeliciFind offers a promising solution to culinary challenges by enhancing meal planning convenience and contributing to food waste reduction.
