Understanding Cryptography Primitive Algorithms Awareness Level Among University Students in Malaysia
摘要
This study investigates the awareness level of public university students in Malaysia towards cryptography primitive algorithms. The study adopted a descriptive research design. Seventy-eight respondents from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) and the Faculty of Science (FS) (department of mathematics) from a local public university in Malaysia participated in this study. The respondents of the study were selected based on a purposive sampling approach. Data for this study was collected via an online questionnaire and analysed in terms of percentages and frequencies in SPPS 28.0 software. The finding shows that all the respondents have a basic understanding of the concepts of cryptography primitives that measure elements such as definition, functionalities, importance, application, characteristics and development features. The study contributed to expanding readers’ understanding on the university students’ knowledge regarding cryptography's primitive concepts.
