摘要

Suitability analysis for agricultural land use planning is a prerequisite to increase crop production for an ever-growing population. Agricultural land use planning by using GIS helps to decide on the best location to grow the crops. By selecting the best location for agriculture to increase crop production. It also helps the farmers without losing or damaging the crops. Here the analysis has taken GIS for the kind of parameters which is essentially needful for taking the specific land to take agricultural practices. The setting of parameters by using two technologies is GIS and remote sensing. The thematic data sets are the parameters: land use, soil type, slope, vegetation, and hydrology. Integration of these data sets is converted into the raster and classified into the subcategories in the selected parameters. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method and weights evaluate the criteria by using GIS raster overlaying technics to derive the suitable site. GIS overlay in spatial analysis operation was also used to combine the different map layers for the most suitable lands for agricultural development. In this seminar research paper, a hierarchy model was developed to identify the suitable area for agricultural land use planning using soils, slope, hydrology, and geomorphology of the area to support decisions concerning the implementation of agricultural planning. GIS was used based on a set of criteria derived from the spatial and environmental aspects.
