Setting up a Model to Study the Truck Mixer Dynamics II

摘要

Trucks, given their elevated center of mass, are particularly susceptible to rollovers, thus amplifying the potential for significant damage owing to their considerable weight. This issue becomes even more critical when additional forces influence the vehicle. The study of the effect of a moving mass is particularly interesting to analyze roll over issues in truck mixers. This study aims to reveal why these trucks are more prone to rollovers through an examination of vehicle dynamics. Additionally, the forces and moments of a rotating tank with concrete are used as initial conditions for the TruckSim® model in a steady-state steering test, both with and without concrete load. The objective is to determine the maximum speed of the truck before any tire loses contact with the road surface when turning, identifying the rollover critical point. The findings from this study and methodology could yield significant results for designing a warning system. This system could measure various parameters such as load, speed, steering angle, etc., and use them to alert the driver to prevent accidents.
