摘要

The study aims to characterize permanent deformation in subgrades using an existing prediction model, evaluating its applicability before integration into pavement performance tools. The focus is on mechanically stabilized subgrades, utilizing poorly graded sand (SP) and silty sand (SM). The research involves determining soil strength parameters, conducting repeated loading triaxial (RLT) tests to assess resilient modulus (Mr) and permanent deformation (PD), and performing pavement performance analysis. The study employs the universal model for Mr and the Rahman & Erlingsson model for PD. Results highlight the softer response and more prone to rutting development of the SP in comparison to the SM based on the testing at three moisture contents. Seasonal variations in subgrade performance were simulated, with stiffer conditions in summer and greater damage potential in early spring. This research contributes to understanding subgrade behavior, aiding in the development of pavement performance analysis tools for improved road infrastructure design and durability.
